It’s about access.
Deaf. Hard-of-hearing. DeafBlind. Deaf+. Deaf-disabled. Or even, (wince) “hearing-impaired”.
It’s not about the label that others place on you. For us, it’s about the challenges you face, and how we can work together to overcome them. Is communications access an issue for you? Are the materials you need inaccessible because you cannot hear? Do you want to learn from mentors who are like you, and/or from your community?
It’s about language equity. It’s about removing barriers that are in place because your ears don’t work as well as other people expect they should. That doesn’t make you less of a person – it just means you have different abilities and different needs. It also means you have different superpowers, and we’re here to help you discover them.
You are our people. Welcome home. Grab a drink from the fridge, pull up a chair, and let’s have a conversation about what you’d like to do next.
